Avoid Unnecessary Blind Spots

Avoid Unnecessary | The Brake Shop

There are a lot of drivers on the road today with improperly adjusted rearview mirrors, contributing to unnecessary blind spots and potentially hazardous driving conditions. At The Brake Shop in Mesa, we place a lot of value on efficiency; here’s how to get the most out of your mirrors.

For the windshield center mirror, you want to adjust the mirror so that you can see the entire back windshield, without having to move your head while in driving position. For the driver’s side mirror, rest your head against the window to your left, and adjust the mirror until you can only barely see the side of the truck. Then, adjust the passenger’s side mirror by positioning your head over the center console, and adjusting that mirror until you can barely see the side of the vehicle, on the left side of the mirror.

Be aware you’ll still have blind spots. To help eliminate these, rounded stick-on mirrors can be purchased and applied to both door mirrors, increasing the amount of visible space around you. You may be surprised how beneficial a slight mirror adjustment can be; once they are aligned correctly, driving becomes far easier and much safer.
