battery

As cars become more technologically advanced, the importance of your vehicle’s battery becomes more important. In the old days, a car battery essentially worked, or it didn’t; if it was good enough to start the car, it was good enough. Moderns vehicles are a different story. A faulty battery can cause a variety of issues, including engine codes, sensor failures, irregular transmission behavior, and the list goes on.

Battery failure often causes issues that are commonly misdiagnosed, and in the hands of the wrong auto repair shop, a mechanic may spend hundreds of your hard-earned dollars chasing problems that don’t exist. At The Brake Shop in Mesa, AZ, our mechanics are familiar with modern vehicles and the problems that accompany them.

fuel being put into vehicle

Your car’s fuel system works with the rest of the engine control system to deliver the best performance with the lowest emissions. Check your car’s fuel system regularly or immediately if you smell gas or suspect a problem.

What does it do? - The fuel system transfers fuel from the fuel tank and passes it through a fuel filter for straining before it arrives at the injectors. A pressure regulator controls fuel pressure to ensure good engine performance under a variety of speed and load conditions. Fuel injectors, when activated, spray a metered amount of fuel into the engine. Some vehicles use a return line system to return unused fuel back to the tank.

Tire rotations, alignments, and even replacements are necessary to ensure your tires stay in competent condition and don’t pose any harm when you’re driving. At The Brake Shop, it’s important to us that your tires perform well and are safe to be on the road. Routine maintenance is sometimes not enough to get the most out of your tires. Here are just a few tips and steps to extending the lifespan of your tires, so they can continue to take you wherever you need for as long as you need.

If you drive a vehicle with more than a few miles on it, there’s a good chance you’ve noticed an occasional drip underneath it that leaves spots wherever you park. Identifying what is leaking from your car will help you determine whether or not it’s a cause for concern, and what to do about it.

Carl is the man. I've come in here a couple times over the past 2 years & both times Carl & crew are always friendly & honest. The 1st time I came in to just get my rotors resurfaced for a Ford E450 Super Duty. The 2nd time I brought in 4 Rotors to be resurfaced for my wife's Honda Odyssey since the steering was vibrating while she braked so I was changing out her brakes. Carl showed me where her front rotors had hot spots on them & let me know that even with resurfacing them they would start vibrating again soon. He let me know my only option would be to buy new rotors. I got on my phone while still there & searched Auto Zone's site & showed him what they had available. He said the ones available weren't that great & then called a friend at another shop & sent me over there to get better rotors & a better price. Thanks so much bro, sorry the review took so long, I just drove by & thought about your great service. - Ben A. (5 Star Yelp Review)

Every time you get into your diesel truck you probably forget all the safety features your vehicle has for you in case of an accident. Airbags are one of the greatest features of modern diesel trucks, though they aren’t often considered until you need them. From The Brake Shop in Mesa, AZ, here’s a nod to one of the better vehicle advancements of our time and why it's important not to ignore warning signs.

Transmission malfunctions are sometimes hard to pin down and might even go unnoticed. A transmission slip can manifest itself in a lot of different ways because there’s not a universal or consistent way to describe it. Since it will vary based on the vehicle, how bad the issue is, and what components are at fault, here are some symptoms to look for in your vehicle.
